About

We tuft the letters people earn.

Customized Chenille Patches makes varsity letters, mascot patches, year and chevron patches, complete letter-jacket sets, Greek letters and standing programmes for schools and brands.

Custom printed chenille patches with logo

A chenille patch is the only piece of merchandise with a ceremony attached. Somebody earned it — a season, a pledge, a record — and it will be worn on one jacket for decades and expected to match the letters awarded twenty years on either side of it.

That expectation is our product. Not the loop pile: the continuity.

We are, in practice, the filing cabinet where schools keep their letters.

Why we exist

Chenille fails in ceremonial ways: the junior’s letter a shade off the senior’s, the mascot mushed into an unreadable blob of pile, the year patch scaled wrong for the sleeve, the awards-night box arriving the week after awards night.

Every one is a decision made wrongly before tufting — and making those decisions properly is the entire company.

Read by depth, not detail

Chenille is looped yarn pile standing off a felt base, read by touch and depth as much as by eye. It is unbeatable for bold letters and silhouettes and honestly wrong for fine detail.

So we simplify artwork to its strongest shape — approved by you before production — build combination patches with embroidered fine work where it matters, and point genuinely detailed crests to embroidery before money is spent.

The file is the institution

Every school and organisation gets a file: letterform, mascot art, felt and yarn colours, sizes per garment, backing. Every batch — this season’s, next decade’s, one alumnus’s replacement — is produced against it.

No athlete’s award should depend on somebody’s memory.

An award has to feel like one

Dense pile, clean bound edges, letterforms drawn properly — a good letter reads across a gym and feels substantial in the hand at the ceremony.

Roster-sized orders get the same standard as district ones, because the ceremony does not care about quantity.

Years belong here

Graduation years, season years, player numbers and service chevrons are half the letterman sleeve — on these patches the number IS the product, figured properly for pile and matched to the letter beside it.

The only numbers that never appear are prices.

Sets, not fragments

Back mascot, chest letter, sleeve year, chevrons: one jacket, designed as one composition, cut from the same felt on the same day, delivered as a kit per athlete with placement notes.

And said plainly: we make the patches, not the jackets — the sewing belongs to a tailor with the garment on the bench.

Backing, honestly

The letterman tradition is sew-on, and for a decades-long jacket it is still the right answer.

Iron-on exists for fashion runs and casual garments, and its limits are stated rather than discovered: heavy pile is a lot to ask of glue.

What we will talk you out of

A detailed crest in pile. Iron-on under a jacket-weight letter. A mascot nobody approved in simplified form. Pieces ordered separately that should be a set. And any ceremony date we already know we would miss.

Each of those costs us an order occasionally and a school’s trust never.
